As a side event to the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg 2019, we hosted a Metal Cruise on the Alster river in Hamburg last Sunday.
With about 90 guests, we had an amazing evening on the cruise vessel ‘St. Georg’ with lots of fun, heavy metal music and beer. (Cheers and thanks to our beer suppliers, who our friends from the BREW fellowship)
In the course of the evening, we held our yearly general assembly. We informed our members about our future plans to not only support the Rotary Foundation and the Wacken Foundation but also rock and metal music related social projects within the Rotarian family.
Also, we did a lottery with metal related prizes to fundraise money for the aforementioned Wacken Foundation. Combined with the revenue from the cruise ticket sales, we raised more than 4.000 € that we will soon donate to support and encourage young musicians and artists. How awesome is this?! 🙂
