Don’t bottle it up! Don´t suffer in silence! – Metal star campaigning for Rotarian initiative

1 in 4 people in the UK officially suffer with some form of mental illness – in reality, almost everyone will encounter a mental health issue either directly or indirectly at some points in their lives.

Despite this huge number of people affected, mental health is still not something that´s spoken about enough in our society. Nonetheless, mental health is as important as physical health. Therefore, many people from all over the world speak up during #mentalhealthawarenessweek to help break the taboo of mental health.

Our British and Irish Rotarian friends from the Rotarians 4 Mental Health initiative started the “Don’t bottle it up” campaign to do exactly so. One of the prominent faces supporting the campaign is Laura Guldemond, the crazy wildchild and frontwoman of the Swiss power metal band Burning Witches.

On Laura’s facebook page she points out the importance of #mentalhealthawareness and shares her story how she is personally affected by mental health issues. Check it out and give Laura and her band a ‘Like it’ for her support of this important cause.
