You think Metal music and Rotary don’t mix? Think again!

In the latestet issue (December 2020) of the Rotary magazine the Rotarian Metalhead Fellowship has been featured for the second time since its foundation back in 2018.

In this article, written by Joseph Derr, we had the chance to focus primarily on our passion of metal music and not only talk about the service we do. A bunch of our fellowship members were interviewed to speak about their thoughts on metal and its stereotypes, to share some metallic moments and to point out some metal songs of which they believe fit well to Rotary.

The lyric goes, “Anywhere I roam, where I lay my head is home,” and that is how Rotary makes me feel.
– Martine Babineau on his Rotary Anthem “Wherever I May Roam” by Metallica

Other songs that were mentioned are:
The Answer Lies Within” by Dream Theater
You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ ” by Judas Priest
Revolution Is My Name” by Pantera

aaaaand … of course our soon-to-be-released RMF anthem: “In Silence” by Sons of Eternity (written and composed by our member Matthias “Church” Kirchgessner; more information will be coming soon)

What is your inofficial Rotary Metal anthem? Which song do you think describes best what Rotary stands for? Share your thoughts with us \m/
