Tremendous success – Rotaract and Crowdpfanding at Summer Breeze Festival 2023

This year’s Summer Breeze Festival not only brought together metalheads and music enthusiasts from around the world but also showcased a remarkable social initiative that demonstrated the true essence of community and unity, and that highlighted how deeply the heavy metal community cares for the well-being of others. 

Members of Rotaract and Rotary, dedicated volunteers, and heavy metal fans came together in an impressive display of solidarity to raise over 40,000 € through a concept known as Crowdpfanding. 
Crowdpfanding is a social action where volunteers collect deposit bottles during music festivals to generate donations for charitable causes. This idea that was born in the Rotaract District 1841 is not only environmentally friendly but also highly effective, leveraging the festival atmosphere and sense of community to do good.

This considerable sum that was generated from Crowdpfanding will be channeled towards four social projects and organizations that work towards various vital causes:

1. 1. Jugendhaus Mindelheim: An organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged children by providing educational opportunities and social support.
   2. Elimu: a team of Tanzanian and German friends who try to improve the living conditions of children in Tanzania. For instance, they have already founded an orphanage as well as an education center.
   3. Freibad Seltmans: The public pool in a small Allgau village, preserved through community initiative, serves as a successful model of inclusion and community unity, offering swimming courses and uniting residents.
   4. Govinda e.V.: founded multiple projects in Nepal to educate, help and support children from various Nepalese backgrounds, while also promoting the welfare of first-generation orphanage children and assisting deaf children in Western Nepal, among other projects.

The success of Crowdpfanding not only reflects the commitment of Rotaract members but also the remarkable spirit of heavy metal fans. Given the success at the Summer Breeze Rock Festival, we are already looking forward to many more events where this remarkable social initiative will be supported. 

We hope that this impressive initiative serves as an inspiration and encourages more people to get involved in charitable causes, working together to do good.
